Our design concept was to create a bold, trusted mobile space focused on your energy efficiency. We combined solid IoT data with smart features, such as fault detection and accurate power tracking, all presented through an easy-to-navigate and user-friendly interface. Ultimately, we aimed to design an app that not only reduces carbon footprints but also supports a cleaner, more sustainable lifestyle for every user.

To ensure a fast experience, we optimized Bluetooth pairing, designed smooth setup screens, and streamlined the device onboarding flow.

To maximize accessibility, we crafted a responsive UI design delivering a seamless experience across all smart devices and screen sizes.
Every UX and UI design decision was made to support the core mission. For instance, the clean color palette and clear typography were chosen to reduce cognitive load during device setup. Another design goal was to ensure the interface's clarity extended to all users, specifically home owners dealing with complex appliance management. From a UX standpoint, we crafted responsive layouts using accessible design patterns, and designed secure user flows to ensure absolute privacy when handling sensitive IoT and power usage data.
Our UX and UI design were guided by the core mission of Verv: smart energy efficiency and real-time power analytics. We designed an experience mirroring these goals: a trustworthy interface for appliance pairing, clear pathways for complex energy data, and a secure space for sensitive IoT usage information
We used a dark slate (#263238) paired with a calming teal (#26A69A) as the heart of our design to convey trust and smart efficiency. We also made frequent use of clean gray (#F4F5F7) for clarity, and a vibrant orange (#FF5722) for key actions
We used the “Poppins” typeface to ensure clarity and establish a modern, smart-tech tone. For body text, its clean structure provides optimal readability and a comfortable reading experience across all devices
We relied on modern UI/UX workflows to bring this smart energy platform to life. Using Figma, we mapped out intuitive device onboarding screens, created custom data visualization cards, and built a scalable design system for real-time analytics. The total design duration was roughly 6 weeks, covering everything from initial wireframing and IoT pairing flows to final UI polishes.

Verv operates as an AI-powered energy monitoring and IoT management platform that brings the entire appliance optimization workflow into one place. Instead of users switching between multiple systems, the app enables households to collaboratively track power consumption, receive personalized efficiency tips, coordinate device controls, and manage smart plugs from a single interface. The AI system assists with real-time usage insights, detects appliance faults, and automates carbon footprint tracking.

Our toolset was carefully chosen to balance visual precision with hardware integration, allowing a smooth workflow from onboarding to live analytics. Among the tools included in this toolkit are Figma for interface design, LO-FI and HI-FI wireframes for IoT setup flows, and detailed UI setups for real-time monitoring dashboards, as well as tailored mobile layouts for seamless Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing
