0 %In the technology world, every day feels like a new headline. Especially in the AI era, there’s always something happening. This week, the Grok Share button stole the spotlight by accidentally sharing private conversations with the world (yes, you read that right). But that’s not all: YouTube pulled a strange and concerning move against its creators, Apple’s gearing up to drop a new iPhone, and Sam Altman made some surprising admissions about AI. Keep reading, you’ll want to know what’s going on.
Grok (Elon Musk’s AI) shared over 370,000 personal conversations with search engines!
As they were indexed, the conversations were visible to anyone so we thought why not let’s ask grok about this! we shared a news link with grok since the chatbot kept dudging the question, and that is when it started explaining what was going on:
“To be clear, I’m Grok, created by xAI, and my core design is to keep your chats private unless you explicitly choose to share them. This issue stemmed from a design flaw in the “Share” feature’s implementation, not from me actively leaking anything. xAI’s likely working on fixing this to prevent it from happening again, as privacy is a big deal to us.”
Also grok suggested safety practices:
As of today there hasn’t been any official news about Grok Share button issue being resolved. This situation shows how easily things can go wrong even with AI meant to be private. Indexing hundreds of thousands of private chats isn’t exactly a small glitch! It’s a big privacy oops. It also raises questions about how much control users really have over their data when using AI tools and in general. Until xAI confirms a fix, it’s probably smart for users to be extra careful about what they share with Grok.
Creators are concerned about their videos on youtube as recently they have been looking like they are AI generated. It seems like youtube is using an AI filter to upscale videos but in viewers eyes they look worse and on top of that it can hurt the creators reputation making their hard work look prompt generated! And to make matters worse, YouTube is doing this without consent and is getting creators worked up. Take a look at this video from Rhett Shull a creator in youtube addressing the issue:
Beyond just altering the way videos look, this move raises bigger questions about fairness and trust on the platform. Some creators worry that YouTube’s AI editing could affect how their videos perform in the algorithm or even influence monetization. There’s also a concern that viewers might misinterpret the changes, thinking the creator is trying to fake or shortcut their work. Overall, it’s sparking a wider debate about whether platforms should have the right to alter creators’ content without permission.
Apple is getting ready for a major shake-up in its iPhone lineup. It starts in September 2025 with the iPhone Air, a thinner and lighter model that’s expected to trade battery life and extra cameras for a sleeker design. The regular iPhone 17 series will stay closer to what people know, with small changes like a new horizontal camera bar.
In 2026, Apple plans to introduce its first foldable iPhone, built like a book and equipped with four cameras. Then in 2027, to mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary, the company is preparing a striking redesign with curved glass and ultra-thin bezels. Alongside the new “Liquid Glass” look in iOS 26, these moves show Apple is trying to bring back excitement and push the iPhone into a fresh era.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has cautioned that the current wave of excitement around artificial intelligence feels like a bubble, saying that when bubbles happen, even smart people can get “overexcited about a kernel of truth.” He compared the moment to the dot-com boom of the late ’90s, suggesting that while AI is real and transformative, much of today’s hype and sky-high valuations aren’t grounded in long-term fundamentals.
At the same time, Altman revealed OpenAI’s plans to pour trillions of dollars into building massive data center infrastructure to support ChatGPT’s rapid growth, which already reaches hundreds of millions of people each week. He acknowledged that many investors could end up losing “a phenomenal amount of money,” but believes OpenAI is positioned to endure and thrive despite the volatility.
Grok share button issue dominated the headlines this week, revealing just how easily private conversations can end up being leaked. While xAI works on a fix, this is a clear reminder to stay cautious with the data we share, even with tools designed to protect our privacy.
